Running rich 200 1991

My 240 is running extremely rich. Fuel economy is about half what i was getting. Coolant temp sensor is fine. Cleaned connections to AMM as well as the insides with brake clean. Air filter was ripped and quite a bit of debris had worked its way into the intake stream. I have cleaned it as best as possible with out removing throttle body. I seem to be able to hear the click in the TPS so I am guessing that is ok. I have noticed improvement with idle for a few miles then evrything goes bad again within a day. Check engine codes return as well both indicating compensation for rich mixtuure. Please help!
