The knock is dead!!!!!!! 200 1991

Did it all - new vacuum lines, distributor cap, rotor, fuel additive, throttle body cleaning, even put a new knock sensor in. Kept getting a knock under load, on hills, between 2000 and 2500 RPM.

Accidentally found a line in the 700/900 FAQs that said a failed air box thermostat could cause a "mid-range" knock. Pulled the airbox, and the thermo was bad. Pushed the flap to full cool air, and slipped a nail in the slot at the end of the plunger to keep it open.

Buttoned it up, and drove and drove and drove - no more knock!!!! Hills are no longer a pain - seems to have more power too.

Whoda thunk it????
