Transmission trouble after radiator replacement 200 1988

Girl here in Orange County, California.

My transmission was slipping into neutral and my fluid disappeared. They, of course, replaced my radiator with a Danish model and it was $650.

2 short weeks later same issue. My 88 240 DL starts up like a champ and then once it is warm it slips right into neutral.

Could I be saved with a power flush or do I need a new transmission like they tell me? I am kind of scared after the first time. I teach first grade and don't want to throw good money after bad.

I could get one used from a junk yard, perhaps....or...wishful thinking?

Thanks for helping.
Kristen in San Clemente, California
