rear transmission seal - metal-rubber orientation 200 1982

I got the old seal and sleeve out of the flange OK.

The old seal was all rubber (no metal) and had a spring (ear ring like) washer behind it.
Well, maybe behind or it could have been inside it as it all flipped out at once.

Now, I have a replacement seal that is metal cup-like with rubber seal on one side and inside and metal at other end.

I have looked for pictures but cannot find one that is clear enough about how this new seal should be inserted.

Like what is front and back of the seal.

Do I put the metal cup part in first and press it up ro the sleeve?

Or do I put the rubber side in first, then press on the metal cup-like end
so that the rubber part meets the sleeve inside?

Thanks
