745 Turbo 700 1989

Hi All, Still bringing the new to me 89 745 up to speed and wish to ensure I do what I can for the Turbo (having driven a non-turbo 744 for 13 years, this is new ground)

This is a Mitsu TD05-12B Turbo.

I pulled it off (left the manifold in place) to check hoses/pipes as it was covered in grime/oil and is making a slight whine when in operation, although the boost does not ever get past halfway through yellow on the gauge. The engine has used about 1/2 quart of oil in 1,000KMs, which might be normal for a 350K KM engine. The wastegate pin fell apart when I touched it.

A further study of the posts and FAQ's strongly suggests a replacement of at least the Oil Supply line (possibly the return line as well).

Is there a preferred source (CDN maybe?) for the turbo parts that should be maintained with this unit?

Oil Supply/Return Lines
Copper Washers
Misc. Gaskets

Thanks,

Greg (hoping for another 13 years of Volvos!)
