Viper system has killed my 940T 900 1992

Got a '93 940T about a week ago. It wasn't running at the time I bought it.

Towed it home. It started right up. It ran great, and the brake lights didn't work as PO had informed me.

In an effort to fix the brake lights, I discovered that a few things that should work without the key worked only when the key was in position I or II. Namely, the dome lights and the clock, i.e. fuse #5, which was of course fried. Installing a new fuse provided me with permanent brake lights which could not be shut off by removing their fuse, #4.

The car came to me with a non-functioning alarm/anti-theft system. I am guessing at this, it could have been just one of the two, but there was a horn device and a bunch of relays tied to a main cigarette-pack sized black box with VIPER on the side of it. A dash mounted LED and a hidden toggle and button were also present.

I felt these things had to go, mainly because they were in the way of me getting at the brake light switch. However, a wire from that mess was tapped into the two-wire lead on one half of that switch.

The good news is no more permament stop lights. The bad news is no stop lights at all and the car doesn't run. Simply doesn't turn over.

There is power at the coil. The fuel pump turns on. I am assuming the anti-theft device I think I had interrupted the thing that tells the starter that the car is not in Park or Neutral.

Thanks for any insight, including basic info on the disabling system.
