Clear coat on white factory paint '88 245?? 200

Does a 1988 245 with original white paint have a clear coat? Reason I ask: I was going over a body shop estimate to repair parking lot damage to a door and the estimate included a charge of .8 hr for clear coat. Silver, gold, metallic blue I belive have clear coat, but my guess is NOT white. Can anyone confirm so I can be knowledgeable when I address this.
