electrical issues 140-160 1968

I recently had an electrical fire in my 142, caused by the ignition coil slipping out of its bracket while driving. I replaced the coil and got the proper bracket (240 setup), replaced about four or five melted wires which all run from the ignition switch, signal switch, and headlight switch to the headlight relay. The car starts and runs fine but the only electrical component that works is the headlights. The speedometer lights that usually come on with the ignition turned (amp, brake), are no longer there. I was thinking this could be the source of my problem. I found it impossible to read the electrical diagram for the car, and there is very little information in my repair manual. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
