Need A/C Diagnosis

The newest 240 I have is a 1988, R-12. There are no ports in the system except for the two on the back of the compressor.

Anything on the receiver/dryer that looks like a port is not. Note that this unit is mounted on the right end of the radiator.

A Volvo with the large coffee-can sized receiver/dryer mounted near the right side firewall is different. I have a 1997 965 with this layout. There is a port at that location and it is on the low side. I have used it with success.

The compressor must be running.

A shop might have the equipment for adding refrigerant through the high side that will handle the high pressue safely, but I don't know why they would want to do it that way.

Good Luck,

Bob
