Intake gasket? S90-V90

My son came to me this afternoon telling me the check engine light has come on.
Went out and reset the code and came up with 0172 -too rich- left bank.
Checked all the vac hoses -all OK-cleaned the throttle body and the idle control valve. Still idled with a little rumpf. Got me a propane torch and aimed the sucker on #1 intake port and she smoothed right out. Had my son place the tank on there again while I listened at the exhaust out back and she smoothed right out again. Long and the short-how bad is this as a do it yourself? Do I take the intake completely off-just whats the procedure?
Thanks
Poolman
