86 240 stalls when stopped

hi!

i have an 86 240 wagon. i had a stalling problem and figured i should replace the wiring harness. i had my mechanic do so. he also replaced the thermostat but not the amm.

drove fine on the way home but once i got into the city, it started stalling when stopped again. i thought it was the amm, since the thermostat was replaced, but when i unplugged the amm it wouldn't start at all.

i was a bit perplexed since this is supposedly limp home mode. once i plugged it back in, it ran but the idle was high.

i'm stumped. does anyone have any ideas?

thanks

cheryl
