interchangeability of the sensors 700

Hi all

I need to order the right part and was wondering if the Engine Coolant Temp. sensor is interchangeable with the temperature gauge sensor?

The maintenance 700/900 page indicates that it is two separate sensors. But most part websites only list the temperature sensor. Such as FCP Groton....
