Air Conditioner trouble shooting R-134 conversion 200 1990

I had my 240 converted to 134a about 7 years ago. It stopped working about 5 years ago, now I'ld like to try and get the AC going again. When the conversion was done a new compressor was installed, new dryer, but many of the old lines were used.

The AC switch on the dash feels loose, and I doesnt seem like the clutch pulls in. I have changed the AC relay, thinking that might be the problem

My ability has gotten better since then, and I like to try tackling it myself.

Are the basic steps to trouble shooting the AC? or is this a job better done by a garage?
