Telfon tape, not Volvo specific

Because I respect many of the opinions on this site over some other car forums I use, I'd ask here.

Even though the Fittings are tapered AND you shouldn't need teflon tape on these things, Does anyone know if Power Steering Fluid would have ill effects on Teflon tape?

I'm having an issue with the high pressure hose weeping on another car of mine. It's right at the fitting, it is snugged up pretty good.
