Telfon tape, not Volvo specific

You can try some teflon tape in that situation, so long as you get none into the actual system it will be fine. The fact that it leaks after you have tightened it sufficiently is indicative of a fault in the flared steel line or the fitting that it mates to on the pump. Take a real good close look at that stuff, especially the flared steel line and make sure that you do not have a crack somewhere.
