Distributor question 140-160

Craig,
why are you running the timing so far out of spec? It should be 10 btdc.

Disassemble the distributor and lube it all up. You can bench test the advance to make sure it is freed.

If you are worried about shaft wobble, watch the timing under the light. Wobbling shafts means a dancing, varying timing.

I would not do anything like mix and match parts between the distributors. Some do, some don't interchange.

If the spare is from a FI car, it will have a place for FI breaker points in the base.

Reset timing to spec, and I have a feeling you'll be in better shape.
