One of those days

Drove my 87 745T 3/4 of a mile this morning, stopped to fill up the tank, and when I went to start it up again it wouldn't catch. No spark/no fuel - no clue. RSRelay replaced about 2 years ago, harness has some cracks on the exposed wires (injector grounds, etc.) but overall is very well intact.
Spent over an hour poking around, checking fuses, tightening things up, looking for something, anything... to no avail.
Apparently the car simply wasn't in the mood to start, since an hour after I had it towed the mechanic calls me and says "so what did you say was wrong? It started right up for me". &%#^$@!&#%^ !!!

Tough to diagnose the no-start issue when now it's starting up just fine.
