Firstly and most importantly my brake lights have failed. i have checked the bulb, both filaments are fine and they are correctly positioned. The two taillights work but do not get any brighter when braking. The third light does not go on either. I have read that it may be the brake pedal switch or the relay. But which relay is it? does anybody know specifically which relay it is on this model volvo? How do I check the brake pedal switch to see if it functions?
problem #2: My electrical fan failed a while back and it was a costly repair so my mechanic bolted on a mechanical fan that he already had. The engine runs cool enough now (exactly midway on the guage) while driving. The problem is that now that it's hot I want to use the AC which heats up the engine compartment considerably. I no longer have a fan shroud to help circulate the air so the question is, am i better off trying to fabricate a shroud out of aluminum to suck air in the radiator or does one exist that I can swap in? Am I better off setting up an electric fan in front of the radiator behing the grill like the ones on the 240 and if so, how much do these fans go for. i saw one for like 40 bucks online but it may just have been the shroud, the ad was unclear. Is this way too cheap to be the whole setup?
Lastly, my performance has started to suffer recently. The car has run great since I got it 8 months ago and has just over 100k. It still drives fine but lately, sometimes when I accelerate from a light, there is a lag in power. There is no odd sound or anything, it just takes a second before the car gathers any real power. it will take off, but it takes about 5 seconds of giving gas before it kicks in an accelerates correctly. This is not all the time, just intermittenly. It doesn't seem to matter whether the engine is warm or cold. Any help with any of these things would be amazing. Thanks so much in advance.
