Pinion seal replacement Dana 30 120-130

I did several searches of the archives on this topic without finding the info I'm looking for, namely what are the tricks and tips and what to watch out for and what not to do. I did find some stuff, for example don't use an impact wrench to remove the pinion flange nut. If the thing is really at 200+ ft-lbs, then I'm not sure there's another way save the world's longest breaker bar. I did make a flange holder out of angle iron so I hope I have that issue covered.
But there are likely others and I'd like to hear from those who've done this deed before.

BTW what is the pinion nut size? 1 1/8" fits but seems a little sloppy and 1 1/16" is too small. I don't have a 28 mm. socket but I doubt that's the right size in any case.

Cheers,

Barry
