Sticking rear window wiper on 740. Questions about what to do to fix. 700 1992

My 740 wagon rear wiper has a hitch in the getalong. If I turn it on full time, it runs but when it is sweeping, there is a "hitch" or "hiccup" as it rotates to the low position on the passenger side. If I turn it off when it is rotating towards the passenger side, it will stop on the passenger side and not reset to the correct driver's side position. I have to turn it on and time it to be close to the resting position for it to stay there. If I put it on intermittent, it gets stuck on the passenger side. I have to turn it off and on to get it to go back to the resting position. Does this sound like a relay, switch, motor, or mechanical problem, or a combo? It barely runs in cold weather regardless, so I know the motor is weak. Thanks
