fuel pump noise, 1974 145 140-160

The fuel pump on my 1974 145 started making a lot of noise after the tank was replaced. An in-tank pump was included with the tank replacement. I replaced the fuel pump and filter but the noise was the same. I replaced the fuel accumulator and the noise got a lot louder. It may be that the system is sensitive to fuel line placement and arcs but I couldn't find anything that looked wrong. It also seems that the air introduced with the new fuel accumulator could be a problem. With the engine running, I slightly opened the four taps at the fuel distribution unit thinking that this might bleed the lines of air but no luck. Any suggestions ? Thank you.
