85 240 Power steering hoses 200

On my 1985 Wagon, that I've only had for 3 weeks now and haven't had a ton of time to fix it just yet (my work schedule is slowing down till September, I believe that I need to replace at least one hose on my power steering. From my perspective (albeit, thats not saying a lot) it appears as though the one I have to replace isn't the correct kind.

What is the diameter of the hoses? Should the two of them be the same?

One I have is (I think) 3/8ths, and the other seems to be bigger (maybe 5/8) and of a different kind of sheath. The larger of the two (which is the bottom of the two coming out of the reservoir) seems to have the ATF seeping through the hose itself. I'm kinda hoping that would explain why there seems to be a gunk around that part of the engine. I'm hypothesizing that the incorrect hose was put on, and that the ATF is eating through the hose.
