New waterpump new leak 200 1991

So I replaced the waterpump on my 1991 240 because it was original (199k) and because the seal/gasket on the top of the pump was slowly leaking.

I bought a new Duralast pump and mounted it up with plenty of blue gasket seal. But it looks like there is a leak where the by-pass line ties into the pump just to the right of the lower radiator hose.

Is there a trick to getting that seal to hold? It doesn't seam like a very complicated or effective seal design.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
