Positive battery cable questions for an 88 200

I'm a bit confused. My battery went bye bye, the positive cable was really eaten away from the acid so I'm replacing the cable and battery.

On the cable, when I search for an 88, it shows a cable with no other wires coming off of it but when I look at my car, it has the main cable and then a second smaller one which plugs into something on the drivers side fender (not the little white fuse, that's a seperate wire attached at the terminal). I see that cable part listed but it's listed as 75-86. I assume that's the one I need but what gives?

Also, recommendations on a decent battery? I was just going to throw a diehard in there. Thanks for your help.
