Cruise control engages on it's own 900

1996 960

I leave the cruise control "switched on" all the time. After setting a speed and later having to touch the brake to slow down or stop (for a light) cruise control disengages properly. After the light changes and I used the accelerator to get some momentum I may take my foot off the pedal to slow down a bit and THEN the cruise control engages without my touching the switch. Fortunately this is an infrequent occurrence and the acceleration is not abrupt or rapid - just as it would be if I were pushing and holding the button to increase the speed.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Pat
