speedometer not working 200 1981

My speedo unit quit working a couple of weeks ago. I finally got some time and replaced the cable, figuring that was the cause. Tested last night after finishing, but problem remains. I have a 120MPH unit, and a spare 85MPH unit, is there any capability of swapping internal parts, or is the fix to just get a whole replacement speedo?
