Speedo Wire Connector at Rear Diff 700 1992

My '92 740's speedometer and odometer stopped working, and I traced the problem to broken wires at the connector to the speed sensor on the rear differential. I was able to make a temporary jury-rigged repair, but now I need to do something more permanent.

My question is this: The connector on the brake fluid reservoir looks exactly the same, although a different color. Are they the same? If so, I'll just pull that connector and about two feet of wire off a donor car and splice everything in. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
