Which Volvo wagon to shop for?

We owned 4 740s, two wagons.

We fit an armoire which was 43 x 27-1/2 x 76 in the back of our '88. We had to wiggle the crown molding on the top through the rear hatch and drove with our chins on our knees, but it fit.

My daughter drove the same car to Edmonton to work there for Ducks Unlimited, when she returned, she picked up her sister in Washington and drove the Rockies and the west coast with a car SO loaded that she had to mail two boxes home so that Sharon could use the passenger seat!

The 850 wagon is somewhat smaller.

Two of our 740s made it to 240,000 miles and ran fine when we sold them. The '88 got totaled, but the '90 is now past 260,000 miles now.
