240 starts, idles, then stalls when put into reverse - quick fixes? 200

hey brickers,

my 90 240 has developed a stall problem of late.

in the morning, she turns over, idles (a bit rough at first) but continues to run. as soon as i put it in reverse, she stalls. this morning, it took me about 5 or 6 tries, plus driving forward a bit to get her going. this started a week or so ago and seems to getting worse. later in the day, it doesn't do this (as much).

- plugs, wires, cap and rotor are about a year old.
- fuel pressure reg. about 10 months.
- fuel check valve about 4 years ago.

i'm thinking this is a fuel related problem because there is no problem cranking.

i'm also looking to change the fuel filter which hasn't been done in the 4 years i've owned the car and who knows how long before.

any ideas?
