140/164 rear end compatability? 140-160 1971

Hi Folks... Been a while since I've been here... But I've been lurking...

Question... Looks like I may be getting into a '71 164.. one of my all time favorites. Question is, will the rear end from a '68 140 bolt in there? Even if of a different type, are the mounts the same? I know I might have flange issues, but outside of that....

The 140 rear I've got is limited slip, therefore preferable to me. Also the rear in the 164 is presumably the original with gearing for the auto, although the car now has the M410 conversion...

Insights?

Thanks...
Matt
