AC cuts out S90-V90

1997 V90
My symptoms are similar to other posting I have seen here recently. After cold startup AC runs very cool with vent temps in low 40's high 30's with ambiant 85 degrees plus. After 10 to 15 minutes however the compressor cuts out, will come again after 5 or so minutes then cut out again in a few minutes. This cycle repeats. Problem is worse when ambiant gets into the 90's.

I have traced the problem to an internal switch. The wires enter through a grommett near the rear of the compressor. It is wired in series with the external square switch and the clutch coil. This is a Zexel compressor. What is the purpose of this switch..... overpressure, overtemp? Anyone ever bypassed it? On the V90 there is a progressive 3 stage pressure switch on the high side (I believe after the condensor), it's output goes to the Control Module. Does this switch offer protection from overpressure?
