Hit bump, now 87 240 doesn't want to stay running... 200

Thanks to all the road construction in the area, there are many unseen serious bumps in the road. This was the kind of bump where one section of road was about three inches higher than the other section.
After not seeing one, and hitting it, a few minutes ago, my 87 240 won't stay running.
The engine starts just fine then begins sputtering and dies after a few seconds. Let it sit for just a few seconds and it will fire right back up. It sounds as though it is running out of fuel. The tank is almost full.
Is it possible a bunch of crud got knocked loose in the fuel tank and is now clogging the fuel filter?
Or, do I need to look someplace else (besides at the road ahead:) )?
