Several questions are still open.

Battery has 2 ground cables. One to strut tower, the other to ???
If second one is to block or starter, why is there a head strap - and why would replacing it fix the rough idle?

I'm asking because -
my car's rough idle, which it had for about two years now or more, was fixed this weekend when I replaced the ground strap. Two years is approx 75K miles - in which several tuneups (Bosch cap + rotor, NGK plugs), new plug wires (Bougicord) and swapped ECU (951) and test-driving a spare amm, all did not help the idle, but a new head ground strap seems to have cured it completely. Huh?
