GEAR SELECTOR MOVED AWAY(ANTI CLOCKWISE) FROM NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH 200

I HAVE 91 VOLVO 240 AND,
I HIT A TREE WITH 20 MILES SPEED, THE GEAR SELECTOR ROD SHIFTED TOWARDS LEFT(AWAY FROM NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH). WHEN I CHANGE MY GEAR FROM PARK TO ANY GEAR,THE KNOB ON NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH DOES NOT MOVE AS NO CONNECTION BECAUSE OF GEAR SELECTOR ROD MOVED AWAY FROM NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO MOVE GEAR SELECTOR ROD TOWARDS NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH,SO THAT CONNECTION CAN BE MADE?

THANKS
