Heater core hoses backwards? 200

The W-shaped hose from the head outlet goes to the top nipple on the firewall bulkhead. But it is common for those valves to leak quite a bit even if you have the pressure from the correct side of the stem. There is a trick given in the Volvo green manual for AC - not even listed in the climate control manual - showing the adjustment of the thermostatic compensation screw on the heater valve in cases where AC is rendered weak by flow through the heater valve.
