Fuel pressure 140-160

I put on a fuel pressure gauge the other day. It showed less then a pound of pressure. Figured it was the pump. Hooked a line to input of pump and into my gas can for my mower. Pressure went up to just over 2.5 pounds at idle. Seems to me there must be an issue from pump back to tank. I pulled sensor from top of tank and looked in. Looked pretty clean. Tank has a plug in the bottom. Fuel line to pump connects to front of tank facing the rear axle. Metal line to just before the pump. The fuel line connects to a 90 on the tank. It seems about half way up the tank. How does it pull fuel from the bottom of the tank. The way it looks it would only pull fuel to about half way. My tank is full and verified when I pulled fuel sending unit.

I looked at volvo parts diagrams. They show two different tank setups. One shows a screen. I'm not thinking mine looks that way. Unless my tests were not correct I seem to have a fuel pressure issue that isn't the pump. What is odd is the car runs but lacks power. Doesn't miss or stutter. It does try to stall at times coming to a stop.

Off this week and not checking board as much.

Craig
