93 240 Sedan : Bulb Light In Dash 200

Hi,

I have the following question: can two different head light bulbs cause the bulb light on the dash to come on?

Here are the facts:

(1) In 2004, I had the dealer replace both head light bulbs (I assume they were OEM); the bulb light in the dash was NOT on.
(2) In 2005, I had an inspection station replace ONE of the headlight bulbs (I am sure it was a generic bulb); the bulb light in the dash was NOT on.
(3) In Feb 2007, I replaced the rear tail light with an OEM; the bulb light in the dash was on at times. I have had this problem in the past and I know that cleaning the contact points, bending the prongs, etc can correct the problem. I did this and it corrected the problem.
(4) In Mar 2007, I had the same inspection station replace THE OTHER headlight bulb (I am sure it was a generic bulb); the bulb light in the dash WAS on.

Since the two headlight bulbs were installed 3 years from each other (I believe that they were both high beam lights only), I am sure that they are different types.

The dash light only come on when the headlights are on.

I would love to have an answer by tomorrow morning. I have the day off and I want to correct the problem.

Thanx,
Kreg
