122 Driveshaft 120-130 1964

Good afternoon,

My 1965 122, without overdrive, has a "clunk" when starting out in 1st gear. I am not familiar with the model and have not been able to raise the car to look. I have felt under the car and there is a bracket, around the drive shaft, near the u-joint that moves up and down. It looks like it may have at one time been attched to the bottom of the car - and is now punching the bottom of the car when I start to drive. I am trying to get an idea of what I might find when I do get to raise the car. Is this car supposed to have the bearing mid-shaft, like my P1800?

Thanks once again for all of your expertise.

Greg
