Gloves? 700

I started out with the clear plastic foodservice gloves 100/$1 but they break too easily. I still use them for pumping diesel fuel though -- those pumps get pretty slimy.

I moved up to the knit gloves with the blue rubbery palms. The rubbery stuff melts at a pretty low temperature though. A hot oil filter will melt it off. That, and several automotive fluids like oil and diesel fuel will chemically soften them very quickly.

Next peg over at Advance Auto is the knit gloves with the black palms. Neoprene I think. I like these. They eventually wear out, but I can grip an oily oil filter with them without trouble. They provide some heat resistance too. No protection for banging knuckles though. But the knit back means I can wear them in the Summer.

Mechanix gloves are just too hot for me. I've only tried them on in the store, but my hands heat up quickly in them, and I think they'd be too thick to feel anything.
