Keyless entry will NOT work S90-V90

Hello all,

Just got my S90 a couple weeks ago. At the time of purchase the original owner gave me 2 remotes and mentioned that the batteries must be dead because they weren't working. However, I have changed the batteries on one of the remotes (and tested these new batteries in the other remote as well), went through the remote pairing process (as mentioned in the manual), but nothing happens! When the light on the passenger speaker flashes indicating that its waiting for the pairing signal, I try pushing "Lock" on the remote but the signal doesn't get received, nothing is paired, and the remote still cannot lock/unlock the car.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to fix this problem.
