oil pump and 'O' rings 200 1991

There is no need to drop the cross member.
1) Put jack under pan, release mounts, lift engine as high as possible
2) sling engine from stout baulk of timber across the wings (protect with blankets)
3) Remove jack
4) Remove left hand mounting bracket
5) Undo nuts, release pan, turn through 90 degrees
6) If it still won't drop because an internal baffle catches on the oil pump, undo two oil pump bolts and drop it.
7) Cut away baffle plate a bit so that it will clear oil pump on reassembly, or else cut and bend it straight again after the pan has cleared the pump.
8)Check clearances in the pump are up to spec. replace, with new o-rings.
9) Refit pan, reverse procedure.

It took me, working it out for myself, about 2 hours. An experienced mechanic ? About an hour at most.
