Electrical Gremlins Return 120-130

Okay. Today is the first day that I've had any backslide in the reawakening of my 1968 122S. So far every repair has been wildly successful and permanent, but this evening I lost a fairly major pair of systems.

Today I removed, cleaned and chrome painted both my rear light panels. I was careful to cover the wires and put stopper paper into the blub sockets. The paint job was very successful, but upon reassembly, I found that my reverse lights no longer functioned. I then found that my brake lights were also non-functional. However, the turn signal circuits are fine and the actual tail lights also work fine (these are the same bulbs as the brake lights). The connectors are 1-way types and I removed only 1 wire connector (blue wire to driver tail) and replaced it in the socket it came out of.

I'm confused. Nothing has changed and I can see no reason why those two set of lights are out while the other two work fine. My guess is that it's something on the driver's tail socket, but it's gotten too dark to keep looking right now.

I also noticed that my wiper squirter does not work (but had never checked it before) while the wipers do work. Probably just a coincidence. I also recall that the seller said the radio was working when he first started it, but there was a pop and it went out. However it worked fine for me when I got it home... Also, likely unrelated, but a piece of the puzzle Finally, the wire connecting the license plate lights was severed. I found the wire in the trunk, grafted a new section in to reconnect it and they now work fine. It's an unrelated circuit and all lights work, so I think it is also not related...

Anyway, these things are often a simple connection someplace or require that one trace a wiring diagram, but I wanted to avoid that and see if anyone has had this issue before and solved it. Tomorrow I'll check the trunk again and see if I can see an obvious problem, but any suggestions for how two separate system could go out at the same time would help.

Thanks as always.
