1987-740 heater valve. If you're loosing coolant, and dont know why. Check this part!

In preparation for changing the valve out, I just touched it and it came apart! And ,of course, coolant began to flow.
Its located behind the transmission filler tube(its kind of obscure and hard to see). It has a vacuum line attached to it, and its spliced into a heater hose.
Removing it wasnt that hard. I used a 1/4" driver with a 5/16" socket to loosen the screws. Beyond that, its just grunt work.
spraying a little WD forty, pb blaster etc on the hose ends may help a bit.
I did and they came off easily.
