Veronica – all dressed up and… 120-130

lots of places to go! I just came back from an initial test drive of my son’s ’69 Amazon named “Veronica”. It was a blast. I just love driving these cars. We have almost finished what my son calls “the 1st round of mods”. You can see some pics of her on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/giantacroyear/sets/72157594180129256/detail/

In one of the pictures you can see “Betty”, his initial 122S, a ’67, into which we put an AW71 four speed auto trans that I bought from John McRaven. Betty needs serious bodywork, although she is fundamentally sound, so rather than spend heavy $$ on Betty’s body, my son bought Veronica, with an sound body and underside, plus a ’74 B20 with HIF6’s. The AW71 is now in Veronica and Betty has become the parts car/trial horse. I suspect she might next become the recipient of a B230 turbo or a John Parker supercharged B18 or B20, which should keep me out of the pool hall next winter.

We have a number of things left to do on Veronica before phase 1 is complete, primarily interior things related to accommodating the console shifter. I’ll post a few more pics when that stuff is complete.

Cheers,

Barry
