B20E or B20F? 140-160

If you were looking for a 142E, which would be more desirable - a car with the high compression B20E motor or a car with the low compression, "smog certified" B20F mill?

My understanding is that '70 and '71 142's had the high compression, 135 horsepower B20E with D-Jetronic and no catalyst. Best I can remember my old '71 142 had this engine.

The '72-'74 model years came with the B20F, which has a lower compression ratio, a different camshaft, and a D-Jet with a cat converter. Horsepower is down to 118 on this engine, but some have said that it is tuned (cam?) to be more tractable throughout the rev range than the B20E was. Newer 142's also have instrumentation and some interior bits and pieces that were shared with the early 240s.

So, which would you choose?
