Seat Rail Question 200

My first Volvo was a 1975 245 DL, purchased from the original owner. He was a shorter-than-average guy, and he explained to me that the seat rail bolts could bolt through one of two holes, and he had changed to have the seat far forward. I am 6ft+, so he really made things wasy for me to get the seat nicely adjusted.

I believe that the furthest back holes are the factory setting. Your PO may have changed that, so have a look. I don't recall whether the seat must be removed or not, might be a good idea to see all that's possible.

Have you tried adjusting the front and rear up-and-down settings? Each has a igh, center, low position, and obviously the seat cushion elevation and tilt are changeable. Mine are set with the front adjuster in the middle, the rear on the lowest.

BTW, that seat up-and-down rack can be installed on the passenger seat. The holes are there, used by bolts which make changing the adjustments requires removing the seat. I have done that on all my 240s.

Good Luck,

Bob
