plastic ramps 444-544

I am have my car jacked up in front. Some of the forum members suggested using ramps under the front wheels to hold it up, I had a set of ramps so I used those. I'm still planning on using jack stands to be on the safe side. One thing that has me concerned is this. Several yaers ago the government mandated that plastics be made with some sort of chemical that would allow them to breakdown in land fills. I have a really nice hose reel assembly that is attached to the back of my house. I've had it for several years and it's been mostly in the sun all that time. Apparently the chemical that allows it to breakdown kicked in last week because my German Shepard was chasing a cat and slammed into the hose reel. It shateered the hose reel into a bazillion pieces. Asside from being faded it looked and worked fine, until the dog hit it. So just how safe are those ramps? Do they have the same chemicals in them to allow them to break down?? The Volvo out ways my Shepard by quite a bit.
