Front wheel bearing/hub questions 700 1988

I removed the hub/bearing assembly on my 1988 740 Turbo - was going to order a replacement from FCP but they list different parts for 1988 and 1989 (both with ABS) - the part I removed looks like the 1989 part with the toothed ring for the ABS sensor. The car was built in 6/88, one of the last couple thousand 1988 model year cars - does anyone know if there was a running change or if there's some other way to tell which is the right part?

Second question - Haynes says just install the new hub on the stub shaft. The brickboard FAQ lists some hints for sliding the assembly on and a critical 23mm distance, Haynes doesn't mention any of that. Will I be able to just slide the new hub on or is there potential for the bearing race to move out of position?

Thanks

Zack
