can you believe it! 700

I finally got my new mechanic Bruce over to look at my 740. Both engine mounting brackets were toast, meaning the engine was on the oil pan. He replaced them of Friday for $225 parts and labor. Driving home from the co-op I decided to stop at a Mexican grocery store where limes are 10 for a dollar. I attempted shift it into park and it made a huge noise. Instead I put it into drive (another huge noise) and drove the remaining 5 blocks home. Now I have to determine if it is worth fixing or junking it. It has new tires, about 6 months old, but heavy body damage with the doors on the passenger side crunched up. The front passenger door on the damaged side opens, but the back doors don't nor do the windows in the back. There is no headliner to speak of, when a new piece comes loose (usually when I am driving) I just rip it off. I is my winter car so I don't care how it looks, and for the last year it has run beautifully, nice tight steering, good brakes ect. The AC doesn't work, but the sun/moon roof made up for that.

The 122 needs new brakes methinks. When my disability check, or my tax return arrives perhaps I can insure both cars for a couple of months and get at least one car going. I guess I have to make a decision about the 740, as it is my winter car and I need it the most.

Jeeze! I always tell myself and others that things don't matter; it ain't your lover, partner, kids, dogs/cats. Still in this age you really need a car.
