choosing a shock for my wagon 200

i realise that this is ground that has been covered before, but, please gentlemen of the brickboard bear with me. i have an 85 245 turbo wagon in need of shocks and maybe more. the roads around here are pocked with potholes and cursed with a nasty combination of frost heave and governmental neglect. i love my wagon dear and drive it year round. what would you suggest for the ideal overall suspension set up? i am open to lashing out on shocks, springs, bushings, whatever it takes to get a comfy ride and surf the potholes. all input gratefully received. thank you mighty brickboard.
